This year were still testing natural hair brands especially black-owned brands. Moknowshair is an OG YouTuber who graduated from cosmetology school, so she has first-hand experience with e products, techniques, and ingredients she is promoting.
Nourish your curls with this pillow-soft, sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo made with botanicals, essential oils, and proteins to soften and gently cleanse.
WHY I PURCHASED:
I love the Moknowshair line because of the importance of science that goes into choosing every ingredient. In addition, it has ingredients that aren’t highlighted in most products. IN the shampoo, it is carrot seed, sandalwood oils, and marshmallow root which is good for our scalp. Also, it was on sale, and I always love a good “SALE”.
HOW IT LOOKS, FEELS, and SMELLS:
LOOKS: The shampoo doesn’t have a particular look, so I was expecting anything. The opaque clear liquid didn’t wow me as my expectations were low. However, the consistency was important as I wanted to know if it was thick. Once water is applied it will become runny to give me the consistency I need for SUD. And the smell is the same as all of her other products as it smells salon-based.
FEELS: My expectations with shampoos are low as in only expecting it to clean my hair which isn’t much. However, I want my hair to feel clean and not stripped. Since I’ve used the Moknowshair product a lot, I’m aware of not using a lot of the product at once. A little goes a long way especially since it’s chemical-rich. So, I used a little on my scalp and worked it in. when I felt like my scalp needed more especially at my edges as I use a lot of gel. Then, I rinsed it out.
SMELLS: And the smell is the same as all of her other products as it smells like a salon. Imagine walking into a salon with your mom or doing your hair, and you smell all of the different products to use.
HOW THE PRODUCT WORKS:
Apply the shampoo to the scalp and the roots.
Drench your scalp with water.
Then, massage the shampoo thoroughly
*There is nothing complex, however, I applied it into sections because I feel like my hair is cleanser better that way.
Not only is it a black-owned brand, but they do intensive research on the ingredients used in our product. My hair felt clean and not stripped so this is what I was looking for. Will I purchase it again? No, as I have other shampoos that do the same thing.
