Introduce yourself, what do you do?
I’m Julie, a Mum of 3, an Author & Hair Blogger (known as Healthy Afro Hair) who loves helping to motivate, encourage & inspire people on their hair journeys (through my own experiences) as well as providing useful hair care advice & tips via my social media platforms.
hat’s the favourite thing you love about the work that you do?
There’s so many things, but the most important one is hearing that the content I’ve created or the advice I’ve given, has helped someone overcome a problem they’ve struggled with for years.
Are you natural or relaxed? (is that your natural hair colour and texture)
What are your go to products?
Currently, my main go to products are; ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner, Aunt Jackie’s Knot On My Watch Instant Detangling Therapy (for Moisture) and Aunt Jackie’s Don’t Shrink Flaxseed Elongating Curling Gel.
What is your all time favourite hairstyle?
It’s got to be a High Puff. That’s the style I wore from the moment I big chopped and I still love it today.
What are your 3 top hair care tips?
Follow a healthy hair care routine
Always Remain consistent
Be patient, as results will not happen overnight
Do you have a hair routine?
Most definitely! So I wash & deep condition my hair every 1-2 weeks, I avoid heat and opt for air drying, I moisturise twice daily, seal with oil (when my hair is really dry) and I tend to take hair vitamin tablets every now and then. Currently, I’m not taking any.
Describe yourself in five words?
Supportive, Ambitious, Determined, Compassionate & Outgoing.
What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
The fact that there are people out there in search for solutions to their hair problems and knowing I have the knowledge and experience to potentially help them solve a problem, is enough motivation for me to continue working to create more useful content for them to achieve their hair goals.
What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?
- To create my own products & services
- To travel and see more of the world
- To live a purposeful and fulfilling life
What made you laugh this week?
One of my kids getting up to their crazy antics.
