Introduce yourself, what do you do?
My name is Jen Scott, Co-Founder of Hair-iD Virgin Hair Specialists. We provide hair care education and hair extension products for women with dark coloured hair.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
They say your hair makes up 90% of your selfie so providing women with the ability to instantly change their look with our products and see how they can be transformed into a more confident version of themselves is the best part of what we do.
Are you natural or relaxed (is that your natural hair colour and texture)
I am natural and use my wigs as a protective styling option.
What are your go to products?
I keep it really natural and use good old fashioned castor oil and shea butter.
What is your all time favour hairstyle?
My go to look is a bob. Long or short depending on my mood which I can wear in a variety of ways.
What are your 3 top hair care tips?
1. Look after your natural hair first. You may not want to wear hair extensions forever, so will need a good head of hair to fall back on.
2. Wash your your hair regularly
3. Treat your hair extensions like you would your own hair. They are an investment so treat them with care.
Do you have a hair routine?
I try to wash weekly using a natural shampoo and then plait my hair down without blowdrying. I rinse out the sweat in-between washes if I go to the gym.
Describe yourself in five words?
Ambitious, driven, a perfectionist, extrovert and creative
What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
Motivation is temporary and never lasts, so I strive for consistency and make sure I do something whether big or small each day to take me a step closer to my goal.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Retire my parents
Travel around Asia
Design and build my own house
What made you laugh this week?
I had dinner at a friends on Sunday and it turned into a mini debate about women who wash their plates up after dinner the first time they are invited round… The men surprisingly all agreed that it was a deal breaker if she did do the dishes that would never be invited back again. You had to be there, but the passion and frustration some guys displayed while explained previous experiences had us ladies in hysterics.
