How To Keep Your Relaxed Hair Healthy

Don’t worries my relaxed girls! Here are a few easy tips to maintaining you relaxed hair through the summer and throughout the year! So you can always look fabulous.

KEEP YOUR HAIR MOISTURISED!

One of the keys to having healthy, relaxed hair is making sure you keep your gorgeous locks moisturised and hydrated. Some relaxers (no-lye) contain calcium hydroxide, which is known to dry out your strands because it’s stripping the natural oils away. Use shampoos and conditioners that are made especially for chemically processed hair, and use a lightweight oil  (Coconut oil is one of my fav) to keep your hair moisturised without weighing it down. This will prevent split ends and overall hair loss.

GET A TRIM ,YES I SAID A TRIM!

Girl I know, some hairdressers get to scissors happy. BUT this is important when it comes to maintaining length and the overall health of your hair. When you hold on to split ends and/or damaged hair, you’re putting your new growth at a BIG risk. Untreated split ends can result in a larger split right up the shaft of your hair, which will stunt your hair’s growth.

INVEST IN PROPER AT-HOME HAIRCARE TOOLS.

Why not take the salon home and continue the upkeep? It’s the best way to keep that fresh out the salon look! The next time you’re at the salon, ask your hairdresser about the products and tools she or he is using on your hair . Have them write down some quick and easy instructions for at-home upkeep between appointments.

SLEEP WITH YOUR SCARF ON, YES GIRL!

Hair scarves are our best friend! Always tie your hair down at night or use a silk pillow. During the summer months, a silk scarf will maintain your edges and keep them laid YAY!

GO TO THE SALON.

This too is an investment but well worth it! It’s tempting go down to your local Pak’s OR Hair Shop and grab a box of relaxer for a quick fix and much lower price of going to a salon  BUT GIRL Hairdresser  know hair! They have the education, training, and experience to keep your hair healthy while maintaining a relaxer. Every two weeks to once a month is a good time span to regularly go see your Hairdresser!  She will be happy to see you.

so as you can see you can have relaxed and healthy hair after all! Just try the 5 quick and easy tips this summer and you’ll be set. THANK ME LATER (DRAKE) LOL
