Introduce yourself, what do you do?
I am Lisa Aidoo and I do what I want. Haha! For money, I work in Product Development for an Estee Lauder brand and I truly enjoy it! For fun, I promote the enhancement of natural beauty through my lash brand, Laidoo Lashes and social media presence. I have a tendency to share my thoughts, favorite things and life through Instagram and YouTube primarily (@LisaAidoo).

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
My 9-5 is constantly stimulating. My team and I are always keeping an eye out on the future while managing the now. We get to test innovative products before they hit the market and plan trends for the women of our brand. What I really enjoy is determining the shades for our categories and how to position them to the shopper.
In regards to my social sharing, it’s very freeing to have a platform to create without any rules. I literally generate the ideas for postings, shoot it or an arrange to have it shot, edit it and put it out there for the world to take something from it. I love when I get contacted about how I helped someone find their new favorite product or inspired them to do something new. Its those little moments that bring me joy and keep me motivated to do more.
Are you natural or relaxed (is that your natural hair colour and texture)
I get a texturizer twice a year to help maintain my mane. My mother gave me my first perm at age 3, so that’s an idea as to how THICK and course my natural hair is. I’ve never dyed it but have experimented with it on my extensions in the past.

What are your go to products?
I’ve been using Josie Maran’s Argan Oil religiously, ever since receiving a sample at Sephora. I usually use this product at night before I scarf my hair. I love the results I get on my baby hairs every morning when I take the scarf off. I often get a sew-in, and if you’re scalp is anything like mine, it gets extremely dry extremely fast, which then leads to scratching. I love this product because it effectively nourishes my scalp without getting my extensions oily. I personally hate having oily hair and get a wash once a week, usually. If I’m going on two weeks without a wash, I use Drybar’s dry shampoo to keep me going for a couple more days.
What is your all time favour hairstyle?
I am a sucker for bone straight hair with a center part. It will ALWAYS look good to me. Its timeless.
What are your 3 top hair care tips?
-
Conditioning is a must! Once you find those perfect rinse out and leave in conditioners, your hair will begin to thank you in return.
-
Save yourself the damage by combing/brushing from the bottom, up!
-
For straightened 4C hair, it’s great to wrap your hair at night. Helps to maintain and prolong a blowout.
Do you have a hair routine?
As far as my routine goes, I usually work to upkeep the sew-ins I get. To do this, I get a wash and use a leave in conditioner at least every 2 weeks. Every night, I condition my scalp with a serum that prevents oily hair. Then, I’d wrap my hair before scarfing it to keep a straightened hairstyle or put in wide flexi-rods/curlers to achieve a loose curled look.
