Hi my lovely friends, I have lovely women today on my blog. I would like you to all meet Liza she is taking over the ‘HAIR WHAT I’VE GOT TO SAY’ segment.
Lize Okoh, a quarter century old millennial with the penchant for storytelling and wander-lusting. She was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and later relocated to England where she furthered her education and graduated with a joint honours degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Sussex.
Introduce yourself, what do you do?
Hello, my name is Lize, I’m a content creator, blogger at Sewafolie and own an online boutique- Ofio As you can already gather, I love writing but also enjoy photography, dancing and cooking. What’s the favourite thing you love about the work that you do? My favourite thing would have to be the work itself. When you do something you’re passionate about, waking up to it every day is amazing. Thinking up ideas for it, planning and eventually carrying it out creates a great feeling of fulfilment.
Are you natural or relaxed? (is that your natural hair colour and texture)
I’ve been natural since 2012.
What are your go to products?
A leave in conditioner is a must for every natural otherwise our hair gets really dry. Also a good natural oil is great for sealing in moisture.
What is your all time favourite hairstyle?
I don’t know if I have a favourite hairstyle, I feel like there’s more I can be doing than what I’ve tried so far. But my go to hair style once I take out a weave or braids is a twisted ponytail with added extensions for length. I think I do that the most because it’s so easy!
What are your 3 top hair care tips?
Co-wash as regularly as you can, dirty/greasy scalp aint cute.
Deep condition at least once a week or bi-weekly.
Treat your hair with care- so be careful while combing, and no combing when your hair is dry- that’s a big no no.
Do you have a hair routine?
Not really. I tend to wear my own natural hair out for at least 2 or more weeks before fixing another weave or braids. However, when my hair is out, I wash it 3 times a week at least. I’m lucky that my hair is still relatively short although it is time consuming to wash and style so frequently.
I tend to co-wash, followed by moisturising it with a leave in conditioner, then sealing with castor oil, olive oil, coconut oil or carrot oil. I simply grab whichever one is nearest to me. I don’t use any otherwise special ingredient or complicated method.
Describe yourself in five words?
An analytical lover of life.
What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
The knowledge that I have the power to better myself and those around me. I also draw inspiration from other millennials who weren’t born with a silver spoon and work hard at their craft to achieve their dreams.
What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?
Run a successful company
Run a charity/cooperative to give back to the community
Travel the world
What made you laugh this week?
My coworker and his hilarious jokes and outlook on life.
