Hi my lovely friends I would like you to all meet Patrice,she is taking over the ‘HAIR WHAT I’VE GOT TO SAY’ segment,
she is one of the most amazing women I know. So smart and ambitious, she is a person that get sh*t done.
Introduce yourself, what do you do?
I’m Patrice, 23, based in London and I own a digital marketing company that specialises in social media management and online advertising campaigns! I dabble in other entrepreneurial ventures too.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
I love the creativity involved in digital marketing but I love that I do it as an entrepreneur! I have my own company! I feel like I’ve taken control of my own future and destiny, I’m creating my own path and it’s a great feeling to know that my dreams will be accomplished.
Are you natural or relaxed (is that your natural hair colour and texture)
All natural baby! Haha, I have been natural for about 4 years now.
What are your go to products?
Well, one of my marketing clients is a beauty salon that has a natural product line and a natural product shop. They’re called Y.Wait (@ywaitbeauty) and they have a store in East london; they make theeee most incredible moisturisers! They make everything themselves in their production lab in E17 and they made me a Shea Butter moisturiser with cocoa butter, black castor oil and olive oil and honestly, I’m addicted to it! It keeps my hair soft and strong, I also use it on my skin and face, can’t go wrong. I also love The Monoi Oil edge tamer by ORS and The Great Detangler by Taliah Waajid!
What is your all time favour hairstyle?
I love me some braids! Any braid style has my heart. As a black girl, braids has always been a staple style that I would have at least once a year; be it cornrows or box braids. But as I’ve gotten older I think I could rock braids all year, cornrows, kinky twists, box braids, you name it, next I want to try faux locs! I also love a curly weave style or a curly wig, curly hair is amazing to me and if I am going to get a weave, 9 times out of ten it absolutely has to be curly.
What are your 3 top hair care tips?
Avoid heat and harsh chemicals! Moisturise! Protect your edges at all costs! I’ve learned the hard way haha.
Do you have a hair routine?
When I’ve got braids or weave in, I just oil my scalp every day with one of Y.Wait’s amazing oil treatments and I moisturise the new growth with their shea butter moisturiser I told you about. When I have a curly wig I just moisturise and twist my hair at night and in the day time I get my edges together then pop the wig on. If my hair is out natural then my hair routine differs every day, I’m still trying to figure out a quick “get up and go” routine for my natural hair.

What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
Books, movies, interviews and anything by a person who has succeeded at achieving their dreams. These things fuel my dream and remind me that anything is possible.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Travel the world. Get married and have children. Change the world in some way.
What made you laugh this week?
Chewing Gum on E4 written and performed by Michaela Coel (and other amazing actors). This show is the funniest thing in my life at the moment.
