How to get waves: A step-by-step tutorial

1

Wash your hair.

Now, wavy hair looks best when it’s super shiny, so start by washing your strands with a gloss-enhancing shampoo and conditioner, like the TIGI Catwalk S-Factor Diamond Dreams Shampoo and Conditioner. Once you’ve done that, fully blowdry your tresses.
2

Part your hair.

Then, using a comb, part your hair into a deep side parting, and apply a few pumps of the VO5 Sleek Heat Protect Serum. Not only will this help to safeguard your strands from any damage caused by your curling tong, but it’ll also make your hair appear super shiny!
3

Curl your hair.

Next, working on 2-3 inch wide sections of hair at a time, wrap your tresses around a large-barrel curling tong – holding it in place for a few seconds, until your hair has curled. Continue working around your head, until you’ve curled all of your hair!

Tip: Curl all of your hair facing outwards, for a uniform, blow-out effect.

4

Loosen your curls.

Once you’ve curled your hair, allow your strands cool. Then simply run your fingers through your mane to separate your curls, and make them appear more natural-looking.
5

Create texture.

To help add some texture to your waves, spritz them with the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray. Its non-sticky formula will help give a tousled texture to every single strand!
