Hair talk
Hi my lovely friends I would like you to meet Ijenna she is taking over the ‘HAIR WHAT I’VE GOT TO SAY’ segment.
Introduce yourself, what do you do?
Hello,
My name is Ijenna Mirabel Osuji and I’m a Nigerian fashion &DIY blogger, Physiotherapy student, lover of all things crafty, and books that tell the best stories. I blog about hair sometimes.
What’s your favourite thing about your work?
I particularly love connecting people and blogging has allowed me to meet awesome people I wouldn’t normally have. Fashion writing, Photography and DIYs are my personal interests and I love that my blog allows me to combine all three and share it with people.
I also love school. Some find this odd but I really enjoy the process of learning and my course of study.
-Are you natural or relaxed (is that your natural hair colour and texture)
Ha Ha. I’m sort of in between so… transitioning. I dyed the tips of my hair red late last year but that colour has faded to an odd shade of brown/brownish red.
What are your go to products?
Dark and Lovely’s leave in conditioner is a life saver! Also, Shea butter. Not any of those fancy brands but the raw version made by locals. In addition, I use baby oil (any brand) and “Enliven” shampoo and conditioner.
What is your all time favour hairstyle?
Definitely faux locs (kiko to some). With my hair, I just like to curl it.
What are your 3 top hair care tips?
Mine are very basic: Hydrate, Moisturize and protect.
Do you have a hair routine?
Uhm. Not really.
Describe yourself in five words?
Free-spirited, principled, quirky, persistent and edgy.
What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
Everything and anything. My readers some times. I like going through comments. Fashion magazines, blogs, everyday people, Instagram, movies, you name it!
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
-Get a henna tattoo
-Attend a fashion show outside Africa
-Become an established fashion illustrator
I’m not really adventurous. Already climbed a mountain and that’s as adventurous as I’m ever going to get.
What made you laugh this week?
